今天喬要分享的是俚語系列！已經盡量刪去較髒跟粗俗的俚語了，但難免還是有一些，希望各位同學可以接受啊！一起來熟悉今天的分享吧：

☛food monitor (n.) 吃飯時不斷評論他人點餐選擇的人

[the person who nitpicks and judges everyone’s food choice at the dinner table]

e.g. Teresa is such a food monitor. I feel extremely stressed out when having dinner with her because nothing seems healthy in her opinion.

泰瑞莎真是一個很愛評論他人點餐選擇的人！跟她出去吃晚餐時我真的是太有壓力了！因為好像沒有任何東西對她來說是健康的！

☛ inappropriate selfie (n.) 不恰當的自拍，例如在葬禮拍攝的

[when someone or a group of people decide to take a selfie at the absolute wrong moment in time. Like at a funeral or during intercourse]

e.g. That is definitely an inappropriate selfie since they were all smiles at a funeral.

那絕對是一張不恰當的自拍，他們竟然在葬禮掛著滿滿的微笑

☛ 3-minute passion 三分鐘熱度

[a Chinese saying which refers to a person having a limited passion or a passion that doesn’t last long toward something/someone that he/she liked/loved/had passion about]

e.g. Such a 3-minute passion person as you should never make a big decision that quickly.

像你這樣三分鐘熱度的人從不應該這麼快做一個大決定

☛ spite marriage (n.) 為了傷害或報復他人的婚姻

[a marriage motivated primarily by a desire to hurt or get even with someone else]

e.g. She soon found her spite marriage to Bob was a big mistake since he did not even care!

她不久就意識到為了報復鮑伯所結成的婚姻是個錯誤，因為他根本不在意啊

☛ shit or get off the pot [較粗的口語] 快點必須做的事，不然就放棄它吧

[do what you meant to do and do it fast, or just drop it]

e.g. Shit or get off the pot, Max. You are supposed to succeed in running the cupcake business instead of working for others.

快做這必須做的事吧，麥克斯！妳應該要因經營杯子蛋糕生意而成功，而非替他人工作

☛ twenty four hour ice (n.) 因不爽某人而與某人冷戰

[when you are pissed at your significant other so you don’t communicate with them for twenty four hours]

e.g. Ryan would not stop making fun of my job! Time to put him on twenty four hour ice.

萊恩無法停止取笑我的工作！是時候與他冷戰了

☛ closet psycho (n.) 第一次約會仍看起來正常的人，但隨著時間他們會顯露出瘋狂本性

[when you first start to date someone and they seem normal but as time goes on their craziness comes out]

e.g. At first I thought Ray was a cool person until I moved in with him and turns out he is a closet pshycho.

起初我以為瑞是個很吸引我的人，一直到我搬進去與他住，才發現他根本就是有瘋狂本性的人

☛ freshman at life 形容某人是生活白癡

[someone who simply has no clue what they’re doing in life. They have no common sense, and ask stupid questions, such as “how do I do laundry” or “what is online banking”]

e.g. Paul is such a freshman in life as he doesn’t even know how to manage his own life!

保羅真的是生活白癡！因為他甚至不知道如何管理自己的生活
