[英文] 八種常用詞組

喬近日研究很多常用詞組/句型/片語/字彙，認為一次分享八個是比較適當的數量。今天喬分享的詞組自己也挺喜歡使用的，請各位同學一起來學習吧！

◆make appointment with 與..約定; 約會

e.g. Paul made an appointment with his secretary for a secret talk about the development of the company last night.

昨晚保羅與他的秘書有個關於公司發展的秘密會談

◆be appreciative of O. = appreciate O. 欣賞; 感激

e.g. Although he showed gratitude and even delivered a speech for you, he is not appreciative of you at all in fact.

儘管他表現出感激，甚至為了你演講了一番，他事實上根本就不感激你

◆be assured of 得到..的保證; 對…感到放心

e.g. Caroline is rather assured of her cupcake business’s prospects since she completely devotes herself to it and has analyzed the market trends.

凱瑞萊對她的杯子蛋糕生意的前景感到非常放心，因為她完全投入於此，而且已經分析了市場趨勢

◆adorn A with B 用B點綴A; 用B裝扮A

e.g. In order to celebrate an occasion, numerous people adorn their place with flowers and other decorations.

為了紀念一個活動，許多人將其房間用花朵與其他裝飾物點綴

◆be analogous to/with 類似於… ; 與…相似

e.g. It is definitely not a coincidence that Sophie’s paper is largely analogous to Miranda’s.

蘇菲的論文與瑪蘭達的論文極其類似，這絕對不是巧合

◆make a career of 在…方面有所建樹; 以…為生涯

e.g. Max attempts to make a career of fashion industry in that she thinks she is adroit at it and has a way with running a business.

麥克斯試圖要在時尚業有所大展，因為她認為自己對時尚在行，而且對於經營產業很有一套

◆buckle down to 認真幹起; 努力從事

e.g. Having realized the promising future of the construction project, Alvin finally brushed aside all other things and began to buckle down to the project.

意識到這建購案的美好前景，艾爾文最終擱置所有其他的事情，然後開始努力著手這案子

◆have authority over/with 對..有權威

e.g. It will be more efficient for you to go and pick the brains of Sophie, who has authority over the cooking subject.
