boycott (V.) 


(1) 杯葛/抵制
- to refuse to buy a product or take part in an activity as a way of expressing strong disapproval


e.g. People were urged to boycott the country's products.
人們被鼓舞去抵制該國家的產品

* urge (V.) 鼓勵/鼓舞 (n.) (尤指難以控制的)慾望; 衝動


(2) 抵制
- to withdraw from commercial or social relations with (a country, organization, or person) as a punishment or protest

e.g. We will boycott all banks which take part in the loans scheme.
我們將會抵制所有與那款項計劃有牽扯的銀行

* loan (n.) 貸款; 借款  [**student loan 學生貸款]
* scheme (n.) 方案; 計劃; 陰謀; 詭計
* take part in = participate in 參與; 參加


(3) 拒絕參加/合作
- to refuse to cooperate with or participate in (a policy or event)

e.g. Most parties indicated that they would boycott the election.
許多政黨指出說他們拒絕參加這選舉

聯合抵制 ; 拒絕參加
- a punitive ban on relations with other bodies cooperation with a policy, or the handling of goods

* punitive (adj.) 懲罰性的 (正式用法)
* body (n.) 團體; 組織; 法人
  - commercial body 商務團體
* relation (n.) 關係; 關聯

e.g. a boycott of the negotiations 拒絕參加協商
